The Sacramento Business Journal has awarded La Valentina as the Infill Project of the Year for 2012.

LaValentina Infill Project of the YearAnderson Structural Group is proud to be the Structural Engineer on this award winning project. Working with Domus Development, Brown Construction, and two architects, the design- build teams were able to change the face of the Aklai Flats Neighborhood. The Project drastically improves the community; filling in a vacant lot with affordable housing, a community center and retail space adjacent to the light-rail line.

La Valentina Station, at 429 12th Street, is a mixed-use facility designed by David Baker and Partners Architects. Anderson Structural Group designed the cost-effective structure, composed of three-stories of wood framed (63 housing units) sitting atop a cast-in-place concrete podium. A curved steel screen around the exterior stair tower and clean exterior finishes give the building a modern look.

La Valentina North, at 331 12th street, adds affordable housing units at net zero energy. This time utilizing Concrete Masonry Walls, wood framing and high-pitched roof trusses Anderson Structural Group was able to provide the craftsman style the architect, HYLA, desired to blend in with the neighborhood.
